The hand-forged forestry axe is protected by a vegetable-tanned leather sheath to protect you and your equipment from the sharp blade. This leather is biodegradable and free of heavy metals. Vegetable-tanned leather is processed using natural tanning agents from plants such as oak bark, rhubarb roots, quebracho wood and mimosa bark. This method has been used for over 5,000 years and is known for being environmentally friendly as it does not use harmful chemicals.

How do I care for the forestry axe?

If you look after your axe carefully, it will last a lifetime and you will even be able to pass it on to the next generation. To ensure the longevity of your tool, always store it in a dry place. If you do not use your axe for a long time, you should treat the metal with cooking or gun oil, such as Ballistol.
